What causes the water damage?

• Improper grading of land causing water to drain toward your home
• Overflow during sudden storms
• French drain (weeping tile) malfunction.

What you can do

• Be sure rain water sewers are free of leaves and debris.
• Call your municipality to clear the sewer if you foresee problems during a storm.
• Be sure your land is properly graded so that water runs away from your home.
• Be sure that trees and roots are not blocking your sewer/French drain.
• If you have a slanted garage floor, be vigilant about keeping it clear of snow and mud.
